this is the second time i bought these and got ripped off!!!
they say 40x but they only let me do 12x......WTF!!!! :mad:


i used nero and clonecd and discjuggler. all only 12x
is there a reason why this is the top speed or are they just bunk cd-r's

y would they falsely advertise???


stay away from memorex!!!




p.s. i use a LITE-ON LTR-32123S 32x burner

Normally, if you use Nero and the software has to burn slower due to the media, you will get a message. The only other time I've seen this with Nero was when it wasn't a full version of Nero. One of the limitations of an OEM version, for example, is that it won't let you burn to full maximum.

Have you given one of these CDRs to your mates to see if they get the same problem ?

Just because they rate them at 40X does not mean that your drive does. You could try updating your firmware, as most updates seem to focus on media compatibility.

Use the Lite-On smart burn util to see what any media is rated at.

I had the same prob with some Verbatim DataLifePlus that were rated at 48x. I could only burn at 8x, 12x, and 16x. I also bought some Verbatim ValuLife 32x and I could only burn at 24x, no lower.

i fugured it out, all i had to do was disable smart-burn in nero(whoops). now how do i get nero to stop warning me about not having smart-burn enabled???
