jasakk Dec 01, 2002, 05:22 PM Have got a pioneer104 dvdr and am currently using xp do i need to change from fat 32 to ntfs thisiscoo Dec 01, 2002, 05:27 PM yes, so you can burn image that are larger than 4 gb.......... InFiLtRaTe2000 Dec 01, 2002, 06:03 PM I heard there was some software where you could make an image on Fat32 system even if it was larger than 4gb.. something like that. thisiscoo Dec 01, 2002, 08:28 PM yeah, its fake!!! lol!!! j/k........ anyways, why don't just convert it to NTFS, unless your hard drive is like 4 GB small..... if not, just convert it to NTFS becuz it will prevent more errors than FAT32... (less crashes) Jaice Dec 01, 2002, 11:14 PM NTFS is also faster Jaymus Dec 02, 2002, 12:21 AM If you use Primo DVD with PxEngine, you can keep the FAT32 system, it will break up the image into multiple 2 gig files. Since you are running XP, you might as well convert to NTFS, it's a simple process. aykh Dec 02, 2002, 03:55 AM Believe me FAT32 is no good, forget about it! Go for NTFS! lhys09915 Dec 02, 2002, 06:01 AM how do you convert to ntfs?and i take it the hdd will be wiped clean?also if i have everything cloned to another hard drive thats fats32 can this not be cloned back to ntsf?other wise forget it no way am i going to sit for hours reinstaling everything. Backstar Dec 02, 2002, 09:55 AM To convert you c: type the following: convert c: /fs:ntfs When you next restart your pc the disk will be converted, you don't have to wipe your disk. makaveli7 Dec 02, 2002, 11:43 AM I didnt know win xp supported fat32??? I thought xp only runs if your using ntfs??? Jaymus Dec 02, 2002, 12:52 PM XP supports both, you can have separate HDs running either FAT32 or NTFS. XP is built close to win2000 specs. lhys09915 Dec 02, 2002, 04:41 PM does win98se work on ntfs file system?and will it handle images larger than 3.99gb? lhys09915 Dec 02, 2002, 04:42 PM also when converted can you you back to fat32?and what would i type? thanks. Jaymus Dec 02, 2002, 04:43 PM no, win98 does not support NTFS on Win98, FAT32 won't take images bigger than 3.99 gigs but if you use Prassi with px engine update, you can use FAT32 still because it will break up images into multiple 2 gig files |
