what is p-cav and MT.Rainer? i was looking into flashing my cd-rw and it sed it willl support these. what do they mean???

I guess your drive currently uses Z-CLV which is Zoned Constant Linear Velocity. With Z-CLV the drive writes using CLV, but in zones. So it may start off at 20X CLV and then switch to 32X after a few minutes. The burner actually pauses between zones. With P-CAV there is no pause, there is a constant stream of data. Probably the best thing to do is check out some graphs of Z-CLV vs P-CAV and also probably CLV and CAV. Mt. Rainier is basically an extention of packet writing, if you don't currently use packet writing, then it probably won't be of much interest to you.
