I've got a TEAC CD-W54E cd-rewriter, the problem is that recently it has been acting up. I've tried in vain to burn data cds using Nero, but when i try to verify that the files have been written properly, Nero tells me that most, if not all of my files burnt have some errors on them.

Suspecting the problem might be dodgy discs, I've bought some new datasafe silver premiums, but I still keep getting errors in the burnt files. I've updated the firmware to 1.0Y, and got the latest ASPI drivers but that ain't helped either.

I'm burning the discs in win xp. If anyone knows what is wrong, please tell me.

You said Data Discs....what about audio CDs? Or maybe your burner is going out?

burning audio discs works in xp. I've just discovered that the rewriter works fine under win 98, but doesn't work properly in xp. I've got a TEAC CD-W54E.
