I have some rips that i want to convert to dvd using tpmeg what are the best settings to get close to dvd quality

Well if you are encoding from a DivX AVI then you can't expect to get any better quality than that AVI.

Also you might want to consider using CCE instead of TMPGEnc.

If I have a divx/avi and I want it back on DVD I use tmpeg with the KVCD templates to convert to CVD.

Depending if you want quality or volume you can get upto 4 films on a dvd. I go for the higher quality ones and stick with 2 films per DVDr. Like Celtic_Druid says, the quality is dependent on the source AVI.

o.k can yo give me the steps to get the four movies on one disc and what is the kvcd format and how much quality will i lose using that particular format

Atik, was suggesting a KVCD CVD template which is half DVD res.. ie. 352x576/480.

Quality is a subjective thing and it also depends on the source... I would suggest that you do a test encode and see what you think.

You could also use CCE to encode at half res, you could even use a KVCD matrix if you wanted.
