Primo DVD won't recognize my HP DVD burner I went and downloaded the lasted Engine from Prassi/Veritas. But it still won't recognize it. Could it be because it's a CD-R DVD-R combo? Or do I just need to find other burner software? any suggestions. What's wild is the burner came with new HP Computer and the HP burner program is Veritas. If I just ripped my source DVD could i then just burn them as Data DVD? would that work?

If it is a HP drive then I think you will find that it is a DVD+R drive not DVD-R.

So what is the difference? Do you mean it will not burn DVD's? WOW! I'll return the machine if that is the deal!

It means it writes to +R discs and not -R discs. What is the model number?? 200i or something like that?

Well I seem to recall seeing the HP200i in the pxengine supported writers PDF file some time ago, although it was listed as a 200j. Why don't you just use the software that came with it to burn?

I got Nero yesterday. I'm having the same problem. Once I rip and try to burn a DVD back up. It won’t work. I tried Newbie DVD site, not much to explanation there. At least Nero recognizes by burner now!

Well if you have Nero installed then you could try burning with ImgTools.
