a step by step help ripping & burning a dvd please
ok i have a (justlink a-open 2.4x dvd+rw/+r) dvd writer.
it as nero 5 with it, i am useing win98 or win2000.

can some1 tell me a step by step way to ripp 1 of my dvds.

i have downloaded smartripper and i have nero5, so can some1 tell how
to ripp it and burn with nero 5 please.
as i am new at this.
i have look at rishardc's Newbie DVD to DVD-r Guide, but i use nero 5
and it shows primo dvd v2.0 as the burning program, and is there a site
were i can go that will do a step by step useing smartripper and
ReMPEG2 and nero 5.
like i said i am new to this,rishardc's Newbie DVD to DVD-r Guide, is
to dvd-r and i have a dvd+r, i know the dvd cds are not the same but do
you copy the same.

1. Rip the files http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/MEDIA/smartripper.htm

2. If the movie is less that 4.3GB see 5.

3. If the movie is over 4.3GB http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/MEDIA/rempeg.html

4. Then you author the movie http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/part_iii.htm

5. When you use Nero, if you select DVD Video you will see both VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS folders are already there.

Just drag the authored files into the VIDEO_TS folder and burn it.

I hope this helps a little.

I'll just add to that. If you are using win98 upgrade to win2k, win98 can't read files over 4gig on fat32 so you need NTFS

thanks vchlkctgk i will try that, will let you know how i get on, and smudger thanks for that bit of info, but i have got win98 & win2000 on this machine.
