I have the DVD "Blade". I have tried to make a backup by ripping the IFO, BUP and VOB files to my hard drive. I followed a guide from another site to a T. However when it came to testing the movie, it stated to test it by playing the IFO files. The IFO files won't play, but the VOB files do. Perhaps it's because the guide explains how to split. I don't want to split it.
All I want is the movie on one DVD-R that as you know, contains 4.37GB. I ripped the entire movie to my hard drive. It contained 7.12GB. and about 15 files.
After re-editing the movie, my destination folder contained 8 files and was 4.06GB. I tried to test the IFO file contained in there with no luck. The VOB's that were there I could test and it played fine on my PC. I even tried to burn it but it wouldn't play. Obviuosly there is a step missing. What is it? Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

IFO files don't actually contain movie (vobs files do), they just contain dvd navigation info. If u open up IFO file in powerdvd it'll play the movie.

U have to press 'Get VTS Sectors' button in IFOedit after stripping process otherwise it wont work on standalone player.

when I try to open my IFO files with power dvd, they aren't there. Only the vob files. Why?

I dont know about previous versions but in Powerdvd4 do the following.

Press: Ctrl-O
Select: Open dvd file on Harddisk
Goto: Ripped folder (ifo files should be there)

Your ripped folder should have ifo, bup & vob files (goto the folder using windows explorer to check). If thats not the case u didn't rip properly (use smart ripper's backup option).
