I am finding that I can reliably write and retrieve to Maxell, IBM, Memorex cd's about 5-7 times. Have been using BackUp Plus to do that, and have been backing up the same data- Netscape User files.
Is this normal? Some tech said that was about right. Am using Roxio Easy CD- Any and all help greatly appreciated.
Using W98 MSI K7266 MoBo with 1600 chip. TIA

If you are multisessioning to CDRs (CD Writable) then the number of times (sessions) you can burn to the disc is only limited by the amount of data you are burning, not the brand of disc.
Each session does use up some space ( a couple of meg if memory serves me correctly) but in theory you could burn a dozen small sessions without any problems.
The number of times you can read from a CDR is unlimited.
If however you are talking about useing, erasing and reusing CDRW (CD Re-writable) discs they should be still working way after 7 reuses.

I am sorry that I did not make this clear- Yes- They are CDRW discs and Backup Plus is the software. Unless I hear otherwise I shall do some testing and keep notes. Thanks for the response. The board is looking better and better BTW
Great job.

Sorry I just re-read your post. Are you saying that the discs are failing after you have used them 7 times?. or that you just aren't trusting them passed that point. You should expect to get a couple of dozen erases out of a good CDRW disc.
