I have a 104 and a toshiba 1502 dvd rom and for some reason i cannot get it to read dvdr's at all.
It will play them fine copy the contents over to the hard drive but if i try and copy with either dvd decrypter or record now it says read error.

So at the moment i am using the 104 as reader and writer where i would like to use a dvd rom as reader.

So any ideas much appreciated

I am glad it is not just me then! So if anyone knows a solution to this other than buying another 104 then I will be glad to hear it

Matsushita (Panasonic) drive here from Scan.co.uk blinder, much better that the couple of Liteon 163 and Sony reraders I had previous. Reads all but the most knackered scratched DVD/CD

But do the above dvd roms copy dvdrs' ok as my dvd rom plays them perfectly but using record now comes back with a read error. So it is purely on the copyinbg side that i am having problems hence the read in and write with 104
