Using a 104 writer, i've tried white topped bulkpaq (i think gen2), utter crap, only a 1:1 dvdr copy worked in my dansai 852
I'm currently working my way thru 10 datawrite and 10 white label gen 3, the datawrites dont work on the dansai 852 and are very temperemental on the dansai 955.
the white labels I've been able to burn seem ok but with dvdxcopy's nero burner i'm getting a funny message : 'cannot write to blank CD'.

So, can anyone using a 104 and the dansai 852/955 give me advice on to which brand(s) i might want to try next? thanks.

I don't have that player but I use TRAXDATA and never had a problem yet.

The best cheapest discs to use are the white top datasafe ritek available from www.121cdr.com
Now i have found that generally writing at 2 speed is more trouble than its worth so stick to 1 speed for best results

Mediamaster Gen 4 are the best I've used all year. Same dye as traxdata allegedly but a few p cheaper. I have an Epson 950 CD/DVD printer so they are the best, the printable surface is ohhhhh to die for.

the bulkpaq gen4's are excellent, far better than the old ones and cheap too. they are made by TDK by the way http://www.xsct.co.uk/
