hey all, i want to start backing up my DVD's

okay, i have a Pioneer A04. say i take my Spiderman DVD and put
it in a DVD drive, then i use that as the target, and the a04 as the
burner. would this work?

basically i want it to work like CLONE CD, where you take a CDROM and
CDRW and do a direct "clone" from the CDROM

any input is GREATLY appreciated as if it will work, i will buy a
DVD drive tommorow.

would this work with PS2 games as well? i can rip them with primo prassi
but my HDD is getting eaten up!

thanks again!

Well the A04 is a general use drive, it can not burn encrypted DVD's.. Also another problem, I think Spiderman is a DVD9, so it ain't going to fit anyway.

If would be like putting a CD in one drive a 31/2" in the other and expecting it all to fit... Well, ok, not quite that bad, your media is more than 50% big enough.... but still not enough space.

If you happened to have a copy of Spiderman on DVD-/+R then you could do it.

no, but what you could do is read the numerous FAQs available for dvd2dvdr. it's not a simple process unfortunately, there's no really easy way to do it.
(simplest is if you have a single layer source disc, you can use dvddecrypter to make a simple 1:1 copy of the original). see the stickys/posts here or go to www.vcdhelp.com for more info
