hiya, have a usb ir port for my comp, with a tv within closeish proximity. Was wondering if it is possible to control a tv using the ir port?! Any help would be appreciated.

In theory, yes its probably possible but I think you'll struggle to find any software to do it. I've seen something for PDA's but its usually only for very specific models.

thanks captain, if I manage to find anything I'll let you know. So far I have found various programs, most of them allow me to do the opposite of what I want - control the PC with a TV remote, which is still pretty cool. I dir find one program that claimed to do what I wanted, but it was for Linux, Think it was called Lirc, can be found at www.lirc.org


As to the warrior.... can you please explain how buying a universal remote would be cheaper? considering I allready have an IR port which I use for my mobile phone stuff... thanks anyway
