My wife bought a kodak CX4200 2mp camera with out optical zoom. she sells jewelery on ebay and want it for upclose pictures. everytime she takes a picture of a ring up close, it comes out real blurry. i was looking at a fuji finpix 2650 2mp camera it 3x optical zoom. do you guys think this optical zoom will help out on close ups of rings?

macro without the flash in a reasonably well lit room. do not use the flash!!!

The fuji are pretty good.
However a 2M pixel on highest resolution should be fine for ebay. Just take the picture further away to keep it in focus, and crop it down.
I've taken close ups of similar items of a similar resolution and they come out fine.
