Quick question, I had a PS2 before with a neo key, the lens burned out in about a month. I've got a modded x-box and haven't had any problems. I'm thinking about getting a new ps2 and adding a new chip to it, are the lens still burning out really fast? I did have a verison 1 ps2. I just don't want to buy a lens for the ps2 every other month.

no, the new v7s are pretty good. Depends what media you play on them, if you get a no-swap v7, and play DVD-rs, it should last a long time.

I had an old v2 and played cd-rs for a long time, and it still works when I sold it.

Anyhow, the laser is much better now. (in my experience)
