I just got it. (gotta wait til Xmas though, Son-of-a...). But before the time comes I wanna be ready. I read through most of the Sticky thing, but I wanna know, what can I get away with using, the cheapest? And then when I want to make some quality DVD-R's what should I use w/o spending too much? And try to give a general price or place to buy. Preferably in about 5 - 25 packs.

Also I have some very high q. DivX's I wanted to put on DVD since there not on DVD yet. Whats an easy to use program to break about the movie into chapters. Preferably something that just kinda breaks it apart without too much time as well. I dunno if theres anything even like that. Maybe just the tools in TMPGEnc will work?? I dunno.

Moving this to CoOp. Also check out the 105/a05 media problems sticky in the DVD forum.

I have had success with Superior Gen4 2X and of course Traxdata, personally I would recommend discs with Ritek dye but they only write at 1X.

As for DivX to DVD-R have a look at this

You could use Spruce Up for creating chapters and authoring.

How long does it take to write a full DVD-R at 1x using Ritek What does that "x" stand for with DVDs. And are you talking about their 1x - 2.4x media should be at 1x, or their 4x media?
