hi all

i run windows 2000 pro on my pc.

every 20-60 mins my pc will just freeze up and i have to reset it.

when i check my event viewer log it shows the following error every time the pc freezes up:-

"The device, \Device\Scsi\HPT3xxNT1, did not respond within the timeout period."

btw i don't have any scsi devices attached to my pc if that has anything to do with it.

any ideas?

cheers

after looking round my system properties i have found that my raid controller is hpt370 version.

but it isn't scsi though so it don't explain the erroe and there ate no conflicts with it!

i tried reinstalling the drivers fo the raid controller but no luck it still keeps randomly crashing :(

i also get the following erroe in my event log:-

"An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\DR1 during a paging operation. "

ish121, before you go down the drastic route and reinstall the entire operating system make sure you have the latest and greatest BIOS and driver version installed.

BTW, raid devices are normally treated as SCSI, whether they're really SCSI devices or not. That isn't the problem.
