alrite im going to install messiah 2 tomorrow and i was wondering if i can tape the chip down on the board and tape all the wires so it wont be moving when i flip it back to use it.

well yeh.. thats what i do..
because im a cheap skate i dont buy double sideed tape, i usually put a section on insulation tape on the board, put the chip on that and then tape the chip..

for the wires yes.. same thing, i cut little strips of insulation tape and put them over sections of wire

Just take some tape (electrical) and wrap it in reverse to make it double sided. Stick it to the bottom and secure it to the board. Then make all your connections. Tape the modchip again to the board from the top (if you think it's necessary), and tape you leads down to the board.

Glue looks much better.... :)

yep i used glue from a hot glue gun, works much better than 2sided tape

Use Clear Silicon Gasket (Blue Tube at Lowe's hardware), takes @ 2 hours to dry, turns into hard rubber but will peel off fairly easy and won't damage anything and is clean if you ever decide to remove the chip.

That sounds better then hot glue. I just use electrical tape cause it's cheap and non-permanent. It's also a bit nicer to work with during the install (I tape my leads down during the installation).

Also electrical tape is known insulator, and glue...... well who knows? (don't want charges travelling along it)

Just think ahead.... what if you have to bring the PS2 back because of a crap laser, which is easier to remove? (Removing hot glue could pull up tracks on the PCB and Sony WILL notice that)
