I downloaded a film, Now i can here the sound but i get no picture, I have treied playin it thru divx,wmp and power dvd, the format is avi. Anyone know why i am only getting sound?

Because You need the right codec

have u got the right codecs installed as this is probably the cause,try d/loading nimo codec pack or divx 3.11/divx 4.12.

Try GSpot, it will tell you what codec the file uses.

Try divx 5 it comes with its own player but it works through windows media player as well

Cheers for the advice, i looked at the file and it had a name called xvid, i dont know what xvid is but i did a search and downloaded it, i opened up the file and it had a apply button i hit apply and now the film plays proply. I have no idea what its done to it but it works.
