My motherboard is running very hot and therefor won't boot! You can not even touch the chipset! Anyone have any ideas how I can change this?

Fit a side case fan so it blows directly onto the chipset and one that blows onto the memory too. Makes a hell of a difference.
Can lower the temp by 10-15 C or more.

What mobo is it?
It might be knackered if it won't boot under normal operating conditions.

Its an ABiT KD7-RAID, it was runnning with four case fans!! I thought it might be knackered, it has been boting sometimes and then this morning when i came back to it, it wouldn't boot at all!

Something must be wrong with it, if you can't even touch the chipset. What chip set are you talking about the northbridge or the southbridge?

Hmm.. Try checking your add-on peripherals.

If your heavly overclocking your chip it might be worth geting water cooling might help.

Or overclock a little less.

Not overclocking at all, this is just running standard. I have nothing plugged into the motherboard at all.
