I have an old graphics card that came with the computer. it's a S3 savage4. I tried finding updates and installing them, but I stil get the same thing. Everything loads perfect except the main screen is blank with music and the mouse. I used ClonyXXL to back it up. did anyone have a succesful backup where you don't need a patch of anything else.

Thanks in advance

Peace:D

I think you've made an error.
You cannot backup with clony as this software is used to identify the type of protection on a cd.
Age of Mythology is Safedisk 2.
For a true 1:1 copy you need the right burner and software such as Clone 4.2.0.2.
Alternatively you could use the emulation features within clone to run games without cracks.

Sorry, I am still new to this. I use the CLonyXXL and then start clone cd from here. To my understanding CLony sniffs out the protection and creates the right settings in CloneCd to back it up. I did AOE 2 successfully with this. But, this loads everything in fine, but won't play it. I have a buslink 32X12X32X and have Clone V??? (I am not at my computer so I can't remember what Version I have.) I have Nero, the latest (becuase I have a buslink DVD burner) V 5.5.5 or something along that. I also have Cdrwin, and can get any other software you recommend.

Thanks

I thing clone is as good as any for making backups, but your burner is not capable of making true 1:1 backups of Safedisk 2 protection.

Download the latest version of clone from www.elby.de
Spend some time reading about its features and how to use them.
This will enable you to make working backups.

Alternatively if this seems like a pain, and it did to me in the end, go and buy a Lite-on burner they are very cheap and can copy Safedisk 2 games perfectly.

Above all trail through this board as you will learn just about anything in time.

I think I have a lite on. When I started nero V 5.5.9.9 on the bottom right it says lite-on ltr 32123S. So can I make 1:1 backup's. I am d/l the new CloneCd, can you tell me the settings.

Thanks.

Your drive should handle SD2 just fine. As for settings, I have found Lite-On's to be way slow at reading SD2 CD's so you might want to try doing a Daemon-Tools fast dump.

The settings for SD2 are FES enabled when reading and write in RAW SAO/DAO, always close last session and in your case weak sectors set to ignore.
