Hello

was gonna post this in vcd forum but seems to fit here as well and the responce is better :)

just knocked a pc together from parts that i had about. the cpu is an cyrix mII 300 and the video is s3trio 2meg card, when i play vcds on the system they run very stop start unless i put it in a very small screen. the question is? is it the video card that needs upgrading or is the cpu not powerful enough to play in full screen. the system has 128 meg sdram. i hope it's the video as the mobo is maxed with the mII300. also i have a 233mmx chip that i can also put in the board. would this be better than the cyrix?

You should find better result with a P2-MMX, but the short answer is, to get better result, you need a better CPU and Graphics card.

In my opinion, the CPU speed is more of a factor.

You can of course get a cheap hardware dvd decoder card.
That'll get you smooth playback on VCD's and you can also play DVD's if you fit a dvd drive in.

In my opinon both, but try to get a cheap video card thats higher then 2 mb and see if it works better.
