CCE seems pretty difficult to learn right now. So I'd rather just let ReMpeg2 do all the work, but I dont wanna sacrifice quality with my laziness.

BRUINSrock Dec 24, 2002, 11:38 AM CCE seems pretty difficult to learn right now. So I'd rather just let ReMpeg2 do all the work, but I dont wanna sacrifice quality with my laziness. celtic_druid Dec 24, 2002, 12:01 PM CCE is probably better quality all round.. It is definatly better at lower bitrates, so if the movie doesn't require much of a drop in bitrate, used an excessivly high one to begin with or is just really compressable then I guess it would not make too much difference as you wouldn't be pushing things at all. If however you need to do some serious encoding, then you should be able to see a marked difference in quality. Also, I would not say that CCE was particularly difficult to learn. BRUINSrock Dec 24, 2002, 12:22 PM oh i know that now, in the time i was waiting for a reply i went through the whole CCE part. But what i really wanted to know was which got the better quality, which you answered. BRUINSrock Dec 24, 2002, 12:45 PM A question has just arose, that didnt notice. In the guide, it says in CCE, set it to 16:9. I figured this was for a widescreen movie. The movie I'm an doin is 4:3 in bitrate viewer, full screen, is full screen, 4:3. Should it be chnaged to 16:9 anyway, or left at 4:3? Templar Dec 24, 2002, 01:09 PM If it is 4:3, leave it at 4:3. Also remember not all widescreen movies are 16:9. Some are 4:3 with black bars. Using Bitrate viewer lets you know how to set the video options in CCE, as far as scan type, aspect ratio, etc. BRUINSrock Dec 24, 2002, 01:16 PM Is there a way to change a 16:9 format movie, to 4:3 with black bars? I think it's possible with TMPGEnc, but there would be quality lost. BRUINSrock Dec 24, 2002, 01:31 PM Also, does someone know what version of Pulldown is used here. http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/CCE_Ifo.htm I downloaded a couple versions off of google, but none of the options' screens look like this one(some similar). Anyway if I could pointed to a link, that would be awesome. celtic_druid Dec 24, 2002, 02:04 PM That's just regular pulldown, except with a GUI. It functions the same as the regular commandline based one. BRUINSrock Dec 24, 2002, 02:50 PM Where can I download that Pulldown though? Or something with similar settings? celtic_druid Dec 24, 2002, 03:23 PM As I said settings are the same, it is just a GUI. There is a download link on the page for a pack of programs including that one. If you don't want to download the lot then use a downloader that supports zip preview and just download the contained pulldown.zip BRUINSrock Dec 24, 2002, 11:42 PM Hopefully this will be my last question then I'll know how to do this. In IFO edit. It says to use the m2v file you got from smartripper. ? Shouldnt the file you just got from Pulldown be used? Also in the Pulldown options i didnt know what to check. This is what I saw: [] Nonpulldown - will not insert the flags for 2:3 Pulldown [] Framerate (fps) - () 23.976 ()25 ()29.97 [] Norff - strips out all RFF flags [] TFF changes the field order ()odd ()even [] No time codes - doesnt recalculate timecodes for new framerate [] Prog_seq - mark entire stream as ()progressive ()interlace [] Prog_frames - mark each frame as ()progressive ()interlace [] = Check box () = Fill in blank |
