I have read through other posts on this forum, can somebody please confirm to what the state of play is with this DVD player?

Just recently got some DVD-R's on here from one of the sellers, I got Men In Black 2, Minority report and Lord of the Rings which were backups of retail versions.

Lord ofthe Rings plays great everytime but the other 2 start up ok at first then start skipping before hanging completely or coming up with a disc error message. All 3 have the disk labels on them (which I read somewhere can cause a problem). Not sure what the brand is of these DVD-R's , but the inner circle part has www.dvd-recordable.net on it?

Is there anything I can do to make these work e.g. upgrade the firmware on this player (which I read somewhere on here, but how?) or is it a case of get another player which is not so fussy ? if so what ?

any help gratefully received.

The Dansai is a cheap and cheerful but also a pretty good machine.

As all discs appear to be the same media it suggests problems when they were burned.

I personally don't like discs with stick-on labels but try and play them in other dvd players & see if the same problem occurs.

If so, get back to the disc vendor!
