hey, can someone please help me. I hooked up my Sony dru-500a. Where it is the master hooked into the sendond port. And then the Cdrom is hooked in on slave to the harddrive on the first port. Everytime i go into a dvd writing program it says i do not have a burner. What DOES THIS MEAN OMG. Could someone please help me. Thanks

Is the drive detected by your BIOS?? by windows?? Also what software?? The one that came with the drive or something else?

Alright It says i need a recorder driver. When i open up prazi. I use ME. I think it is detected by windows because it has the icon. But i am not sure if it knows its a DVD Burner because it when ever i try and burn something it says only a recorder can do that. Alright thanks

you can't burn dvd's in ME anyway, so you are wasting your time (unless you are burning files less than 4 gig total)

try detecting drives in your bios, and check what the setting is on the back of the drive irtself

You can burn DVD's fine in WinMe, you just can't have a single file 4gig or larger.

Try installing the latest PXEngine update or just use the software that came with the drive.
