Is it possible for me to hook my xbox to my nic and use the usb on my modem for the internet both at the same time so i dont have to keep swapping my cables over ??? thanks


oh i have a motorola sb4100
nic card
crossover cable and straight through cable

the answer would be yes and no.

If i remember correctly the Surfboard 4100 USB suports up to 32 hosts.
BUT it doesn't support NAT (Network Address Translation) meaning it
cannot support LAN hosts using the same IP address . Now for the "up to 32 hosts supported" part you would need to assign different IP addresses to your XBOX and PC. Getting an extra IP is expensive so your best bet is
to buy a router.
