What r they like 2 solder compared 2 wires? Is it as easy or harder & r they reliable... as in, can u make a good solder join between the pin & the hole on the lpc point?

Thanx.

Isn't the purpose of the Pogo Pins so that you don't have to solder? The pins are spring loaded and maintain electrical contact. Since it's a mechanical connection you can't expect the connections to stay put forever.

I have my terms mixed up.

I meen 'header pins' like what u can use with xecuter2. U have 2 solder them into the lpc. Sorry about that :) So has anyone used these?

Cheers.

It's not hard. Look at either xbox-scene, or executer's site. They have pics of how to take the box apart and pics of the LPC header on the board and after soldering it.

its easier to solder the wires , only takes about 5 mins to wire all and 10 mins to wire the grey one :) i used superglue to hold it in place , with the header pins you will have to take out complete board and solder underneath :( , so chioce is your ? 15 mins or longer ? :wavey:

found pin header method a pain in the arse. i only wire direct to the holes now. You can tell if if your getting a good solder joint that way. Also I remove the m/b so u can get a good view on what u r doing. I also find pin 9 a pain, but get some nice thin solder and flux pen and it's not so bad. Super glue....?

I soldered the header pins, no problem .
xcellent contacts & it only takes about another 2 minutes to take the board completely out.
plus it looks way more proffesional!

Thats what i thought, that they would look better, but would they b as reliable as wires.

i used the super glue after i soldered it , to hold the wire in place , as you know its a bit fidly no:9 wire and it is a good idea unless you have a better one ?

Actually, on my Matrix chip, it would not sit right, I have a new xbox, mfg. date of 11/2002, so I soldered wires to top of the pins and then the wires to the board. nice and easy. works like a champ.
