ive installed win 2000 on this 166 system and an ati rage vid card and i installed this bestek pci soundcard. after a while of trying to get the drivers to load..... finally it accepted it. then it said to restart system which i did,.... then it reboots and just before desktop is up boom it goes the the dreaded blue error screen for a split second.. not even long enough to read what it says.... then it reboots and keeps going through the cycle of blue screen to reboot to blue screen to reboot....and on and on.... i didnt screw with the bios yet.. not knowing what the problem is..
can anyone please help me out???????
thnx... Franky..:D

p.s. i had the system all up and runing well before the cards were installed and it worked fine...worked good after vid card tooo... just the sound card screwed it up.....:D

Start the pc in safe mode.
In control panel/system/advanced/startup & recovery there is an option to restart automatically after a failure. Deselect this & reboot and you should be able to read the error msg.

Are the drivers for the sound card compatable with Win2k?
Boot into safe mode again & see if you can remove the soundcard from device manager. If you cant find any drivers that are Win2k compatable you will have to remove the card.
