It is a new computer running xp. I have tried 10 different programs and get the same error messages everytime. There are no conflicts in device manager and I have deleted them and rebooted for windows to redetect and no luck. I happens with my Cdrw and Cdrom drive. They are all original software no copies.
These are the errors I keep getting. "windows cannot read from this disk it may be corrupted"
"windows is unable to find the installation program"
"Disk is not format do you want to format now"

Any help would be appreciated

"There are no conflicts in device manager and I have deleted them "

Deleted what?
Did you build this computer? sounds like maybe ide cable are in the wrong way maybe.
I hope you didn't delete stuff off the device manager while you're checking for conflicts :) can you copy files from a cdrom to the hard drive?
Are you logged in as an administrator or as a guest with a million and one restrictions?

I think we need more delails. What programs are you trying to install? from the cd-rom drive?
how was xp installed in the first place if the cdrom's aren't working?
