ok, i applied the no-cd thing and it does not check that now but it says it can not initalize directx. i installed 8.1 from the cd but does not still work any help would be great. BTW I AM RUNNING WIN 2000,P3 SYSTEM. on an iIBM Thinkpad notebook,,,,,,,,,,,I did d\l the directx 9.0 and that did not work either, it still says could not initalize directx....PLease help:confused:

Win2000 is your problem... Win2000 uses a different set of DirectX drivers than Win9x. Did it [Warcraft] run before you applied the patch?

Played the game through from start to finish on my win2k machine. Perhaps try updating your graphics drives, especially if you just installed DX9.

Nice to know that some manufacturers actually make their games Win@K compatible.
