Okay, I know some of you know this, but this message is for the people who don't already. I am just trying to be a nice guy and let people know about this deal in case they are interested. Here it is:
Up until Saturday (1/4/02), OfficeMAX has the Cendyne DVR-105 on Sale for $219.00 plus a $50 mail in rebate. So, before taxes it is $170 with rebate. After taxes and rebate, its about $185.
In the weekly store ad they are advertising this very same deal on the Cendyne DVR-104. The only difference is that the 104 burns at 2x and the 105 burns at 4x. Anybody that has been researching DVD burners knows that the 105 is actually manufactured by Pioneer and it is a very respectable drive!
Now, here is the thing, when you get to the store, they may not have both drives on display! My store did not... I did not even know about this deal! I asked if they had any more 104's, and they were out. They said they had 105's in stock, but there $219 with no rebate. THERE IS A $50 REBATE!!! I have looked in the book myself, and matched the product numbers and everything. The 105 is the exact same price as the 104, and it is a 4x burner!
I have attached pictures of the drive and the rebate, but the camera used is extremely poor quality. You can't really make out the text on the rebate, but I promise you that it is real. There are other people in this forum that have gotten the same deal as me, so search around for proof.
