ok tried a few guides on how to do this but non of them work for me certain i did them right

works on xbox but how or at what time do i add chapters to it and if possible sub-titles on any help would be much apreicated

Maybe you should try the guide here instead, it includes info on doing chapters and subs with IFOEdit.

tried rishard's Newbie but when if i add subtitles it says somewhere near the end to many frames drop without the subs its ok but when i go into sruceup to do the chapters it won't load then in evan tried rischard's flash guide but still no joy

with spruce its not possible to do subs or import chapters. If you want to do that with menu's you will need Maestro or Scenarist. Check Doom9.org for good guides on that.

guys is it possible to do this with PS2 games onto a dvd-r?

I use Ulead DVD Movie Factory to add Menus and chapters to my dvds, has limited features but has always worked well and is very easy to use.
Also, why would you need a menu for a PS2 game, doesnt make any sense, when doing a PS2 game you just do a straight copy.

@Indiana Jones, if you are really interested in the PS2 games thing then read his other post. But basically the idea is to have multiple CD or DVDRip games on one DVD, with a menu to select which game you want to run.

This is not the place for such a discussion though.
