I ripped the dvd to hard drive and split it with IFO edit. Now i have two seperate Video_TS folder for each part of the disc. (These are DVD 9 movies) I used nero and dragged the whole folder to the video_ts folder and when i went to burn it said "failed video compliance test" or something of that nature. Is there a step i'm missing? I read a couple how tos off of Doom 9 but i'm confused. I have made countless numbers of backups with DVDXCopy but i want to be a ble to have the movei on my hardrive and not have to wait for DVDxcopy to go through all of its steps again. thanks

got to the newbie guide dvd to dvd-r above in the sticky..
and use the link,,
you need smart ripper to rip the dvd..
two files to check once ripped,,one is .m2v file
and the other is a ac3 file,,if these both add up to
less than 4.3 gig..then use ifo edit,,then burn with nero,,
if the m2v file is larger than 4.3 gig,,then use
dvd2avi,,this will create a small file, then use this file in vfapi , then use the file that vfapi create
in cinema craft encoder,,,faster encode...
slower way is to use rempeg and bit rate
calculator,,use a figure lower than the one
given by the calculator,,so the resulting m2v file
is smaller,,,slower encode,,,,
use the new m2v file created by remeg or
cinema craft encoder,,then continue as
if the two files were less than 4.3 gig,,,
as above....
