This is a dvd-r burner and a dvd-ram. It can't burn dvd-rw. It one of the first dvd-r burner. If I were you, I were spend a little more and get the Pionner 104/105. Because it can't burn dvd-rw and dvd-r. At 2x(104) and 4x (105).

I agree because the Pioneers aren't much more and can write faster not to mention that dvd-ram on the computer is really only good for data applications and won't play in any player to my knowledge. You will also be able to get better support for the Pioneer drive on here as lots of people have them. Hope this helps
