Moving this to CoOp. Cendyne's are rebadged OEM Pioneers.

Cendyne 104 = Pioneer 104
Cendyne 105 = Pioneer 105.

As celtic_druid said ... they are not clones, they ARE Pioneers. :)

Though many people had complaints about the 105/AO5 not being able to write to cheap media, I like my Cendyne 105 quite a bit. Wrte to the disc that came with (Optodisc) and it worked great, menus and all. Very happy with the drive now. :)

I too have the cendyne105 dvd-r/rw drive which currently has a special going on at officemax (though for not much longer I think) after tax and rebates it is $180. This is the exact same drive as the Pioneer105 as a matter of fact windows xp recognized it as the Pioneer105 when it did the auto install on the drive. My dvd burning programs also list the drive as the Pioneer105. The advantage to getting the cendyne is that you are being charged the price of a generic drive but actually getting the exact same thing as the Pioneer. It is capable of doing dvd-r at 4x

I've had good success using OptoDisc media ($1 USD ea.) but I haven't tried others yet.
