If you are having problems (as most of you are), I know how to fix it!!!

Go into your motherboard BIOS, and change the IDE controller for your DVD Writer to PIO Mode 4. For most of you, this will be IDE Controller 2.
Just change master and slave to PIO Mode 4 instead of DMA!
Works a dream!!!

set all the pio settings in your bios to 4.if you have a rom at pio auto and a writer set to 4 or visa versa and you try to copy on the fly you may get a power calibration error or your writr will not write at its full pottential.hard drives even work fine with the pio set to 4.
if you read on some websites that test hardware,one of the first things they do when setting up is to set the pio in the bios to 4.
