i tried playing two mp3 files simutainiously by opening two instances of
winamp in win98se i play one but when i try to play the other it comes
up with mmsystem004 device being used and wont let me
but when i do the same thing in win 2000 it works fine what files or drivers
in win2000 are different or updated that allows me to do this??

2 different operating systems. i think win98 suspends one of the applications when the other is running whereas win 2000 is a multifunctional operating system allowing 2 applications to run in their own windows independantly. i stand to be corrected. hope this helps
