i wanna install a new hard drive into my lap top but will i need a special type of hard drive which is designed for laptops or can i use the same hard drives that are for pcs?

Laptops typically use 2.5 Inch Laptop drives. The 3.5inch drives used in desktop PC's are physically too big and require too much power to fit in a laptop.

The drives also come in a couple of depth sizes 9mm and 12mm nearly all the computor shops sell 2.5 inch drives use google and do a search.

You may wanna ensure you have all the drivers for the hardware on your lappy before you start replacing stuff..
