I am very intrested in buying an XBOX just for playing divx, I have a modded PS2 but it only plays 5% of my divx cd's on that the new playa out for it, yep thats right its absolute shite :-)

so I was just wonering how compatible this XBplayer thing-a-magig is with all divx types inc XVID?

yeah... It plays divx 3.x/4/5 + xvid and lodsa other codecs.

oh & I almost forgot,..... PS2 sux man. Its just a game machine :)

lol! Well that's what the PS2 was intending to do, but XBox seems more like a multimedia/game entertaining system now, so much cooler since we can stream movie and music, pics. Even run cool arcade games.

just remember that it wont play your films straight away as they will be on CDR disks i take it.

If you buy a new xbox try and get an V1.1 as this new model plays CDR where as the old one doesnt.

Also the XBOX will not read ISO9660 format only UDF so that means re-burning your DIV-X films if you want to watch them.
