Just got a load of DVD+Rs and my XBOX cant play them!

It will play DVD+RW no problem - but not DVD+R?

I have tried Ricoh and Datawrite (Datasafe Media) in the DVD+r format - but neither of them work.

I though XBOX could play DVD+R? ...or is there a problem with the Ricoh and Datawrite media?

What version xbox do you have mate??

Is it a v1 or v1.1??

Easy way to tell - if the MFG date underneath is prior to 22.08.02 then it's a v1 - otherwise it's a v1.1.

MFG Date underneath is 2002 - 02 -18.

How does this affect DVD+R compatability? Is there anyway to get it working?

Well it's a v1 with notoriously crappy dvd-rom drives.

Could be just that it doesn't like the media you are using.

To be honest i don't know a great deal about dvd+r, i'm a -r man myself.

But all i can suggest is to experiment with diff brands of media - i don't know if ritek do any dvd+r - but i can recommend the ritek g03 dye.

Will try different media, but as I say, already tried two brands and neither of thme work - so i'm not optimistic.

What I dont get is why can it play +RW and not +R - with everything else, it's the other way around.

Can anyone recommend a +R Brand that works well with the V1 XBOX?

hey warp.. i've used both verbatim and fujifilm dvd+r and they both work like a charm.. v1 xbox

You are making an ISO before burning to DVD aren't you?

What recording proggy are you using?

Verbatim and FujiFilm - I might give them a try - where is the cheapest place to get them?

Wraper - Yep, everything is burnt OK. all my games work on DVD+RW or CD-RW.

I'm using CRWIN, cos Prassi wont recognise my drive (Ricoh mp5125a-dp).
