I want to get an xbox with a chip and an upgraded hdd and want to play with it on xbox live.

Ive been told

"Afraid you can't fit a switch when upgrading HD though - as when switch enables the xbox to boot from original BIOS - the HD won't function as it is not the original "

If I cant use a switch, surely that means I cant go on Xbox live as it checks for chips.....

That's correct mate - you can't go on xblive with an upgraded HD. Well as far as i am aware anyway.

But since i was the one that posted that originally i was bound to say that wasn't i :D

But seriously i am 99.9% sure that's correct.

I'd be very interested to know if anyone knows a way around it.

I'm pretty sure that's changed now. The latest BIOS and EvoX allow you to lock new HDDs, so you can use a switch.

If you buying in the UK, try northernmonkey on **********.
