Ok, i install the game (dev's rls) and it askes me for the cd when i run it. So i copy the included crack to the /Apps dir and it dosent overwrite the orig coz the crack is called SimCity.4.exe and the orig is called SimCity 4.exe. So i delete the orig and rename the crack. Now wen i try to run the game notten happens. Nothing loads.

Has ne1 else had this prob? Can some 1 help me??

Yeah, I applyed the PPF patch to cd2 b4 i burned it. Im looking for the proper now but cant seam to find it :(

screw this, tried on 2 different pc, same crap, i`ll just buy the game in 2 days!!!!!!!!!!!!

get the gimpsRus release, it's a english version and it's bug free.

umm odd i only just downloaded this today the Deviance version & thought i would have the same sort of problems. I did see someone saying it worked without apply any patches or crack. I used the DAEMON Tools to install the game instead of burning the images to CD and it worked i very surpised by this and set it to safe disk emulation.

Plus in the read me you need to burn the disks with CDRWIN or Fireburner.

One other thing you may need a burner thats compable with Safe Disk 2

Hey guys. Here's the deal, i got 900 AMD, Geforce2 wit 256 ram, nothing really good, but at least i been able to play Hitman, NBA2003 and all games that came out lately without ANY problems. Now Sim City runs like a lil beyatch, I mean it freezes up for 20 seconds, then lets me build one thing and slows the hell down for another 20 seconds. Its hell to play it.
Now the question i got - is Gimpsrus release much better in a way that it runs smoother? Or there's no way i can play that game at normal speed without upgrading my system? Plz help me out before i start lookin for Gimpsrus release, if its worth it or not.

Ive got a 1600xp & GF4 when i have farily big city it slow down very badly. You need a high spec PC to run it. I don't think that other release will make any diffence.

So i check out the tech support and of corse my exact video card is the ONLY ONE the game dosent support!!!!

bought the game today,still does`nt work, my friend as same system as mine, his work,upgraded all drivers, exept service pack 1 xp, only this to do, get back tomorrow, we have p4 2.53 w/512 pc-800 and asus 533mhz board,and gf4 ti4600, run`s not bad on his system,i`m pissed!!!!

has anyone had any luck backing up the simcity 4 cd's? I get an error when i try to read the cd with ezcd creator.

Also where can i get the noCD patch for simcity 4?

For those that have problems running SimCity4 Deviance (sp?) and xp, try this:

1: update to SP1 for XP. It has some fixes for XP that some games ould not run, the service pack corrects that issue.

2: Dont apply the ppf patch or nocd patch!! All taht I did was extracted both cd's, used alcohol 120 to install the game (I dont have them burned to disk yet), and play the game from the 2ND CD. I have yet to try the supplied nocd patch or the ppf patch, and it worked, but with only the 2nd disk.
