alrite i just got my xbox today and i wanted to know what version i got it the bundle pack with the 2 sega games date was 11/26/02 that what it saids on the back of the xbox can some one tell me the version for it thanks.

it doesn't matter what version you got becuz every x-box are compatible with every modchips that are out right now....... so you've don't need to worry that much about version's.......

so if i formatt my hard drive how big can i get it to b i heard some xbox got like 20gigs of harddirve spare is that true

As long as you get a new chip like x-ecuter 2 then you will be fine to use on both v1 and v1.1 consoles

To answer your first question - you have a v1.1 xbox.

Also the original HD has 8gig on it not 20gb - there is currently around 4-5gb for storing games/apps on - but there is a tutorial on xbox scene that will tell you how to get another 2gb storage out of it.

my date on mine is 11-26-2002 and it still has the fan on it with a new samsung dvd drive. i was told that was a v 1.

Anything after the 8th of August 2002 is a V1.1 xbox, i.e. XECUTER 2 is needed

To really find out what version XBOX you have is to take out the HD and DVD-ROM and look to see if there's a fan on the processor or not. Version 1 XBOX's have a fan, and version 1.1 XBOX's don't. That's really the most reliable way of knowing. The Date doesn't matter because I've seen XBOX's that were manufactured in Nov. of 2002 and still a version 1.

For edog I have heard that the matrix chips are having problems with the 1.1 xboxs because the pins don't quite fit into the holes as well. The version 1.0 holes are soldered and are supposed to be a little better for the no solder mods.
