I modded my uncles xbox about 2 weeks ago. Same set up i have:Matrix chip with D.6 bios(no eject fix) and latest EvoX Dash. Everything was working fine up until now.
He said he booted it up and the system resets twice and then just stays on a black screen w/the eject button flashing green/orange/yellow.

Now, i took the chip out and tried booting w/out the chip and i got an error 16 screen, saying the xbox needed service. I then put the chip back in and alligned in mode 1 and once it was flashing green, i switched to mode 2. But the same thing happened to me....resets twice and then a black screen with no start up and eject button flashing those colors.

So can anyone help me out here???

P.S. His hard drive is stock.

16 - dashboard - Other files to do with dashboard / dashboard settings (specific dashboard error)

So that means when you have installed evox dash you have renamed it to xboxdash.xbe - as when no chip is installed it will not boot evox dash(as it is unsigned code and needs a chip to boot).

Never heard of the xbox light flashing to yellow though????

I'd suggest firstly checking the pogo pin hasn't slipped off point d0, then i'd suggest re-flashing the matrix and if all that fails - a new chip.

Your x-box IS fixable though - you'll be glad to hear.

exact same thing happened to me but i had no evox menu installed i was using matrix and evo 2.5 bios (blue) i thought i had screwed it but it was simply the matrix was not aligned correctly even tho the green light was on in mode one to indicate it was i found that it would only work if i held it down on one side and powered on i tried for an hour to get it to work without holding it on one side but nogo i then decided to screw it in without the washer and it was installed an workin in 2 minutes 4 months l8r still workin g8( i thought i may need realigned because of no solder )

Thanx for the feedback guys!

The whole issue was the allignment. His system was bustin my ballz when it came to alligning the chip. It also looked like the chip was alittle lop-sided. But i just screwed it down with a better screw, real tight and its all good now.

Thanx again....Lata
