Has anybody found a 100% successful way to remove/change the region code for DVD films. I can backup films OK, but I've tried using Smartripper, IFOEdit and DVD Duplicator and none of them when burnt will produce a film that can change from region 1 to 2 or vice versa. I have a region 1 player in my bedroom and it's a pain not being able to watch backed up region 2 discs.

Can anybody recommend a really good program for coverting AVIs to MPEG-2 as ULEAD keeps producing sticky frames.

im bumpin this!im havin the same prob usin smart ripper to burn an original reigon one disk to make it a reigon free dvdr.ive got the reigon free box checked in smartripper,but it still comes out as a reigon 1 disk when i burn it to dvdr??whats up?

Ya, it's wierd. I found that Smartripper doesn't remove it. So I used DVD Decryptor now, and it works fine.
