I've just fdisked and formatted my 40 gig hd and somehow lost 8 gig can any one help
My old setup was one partition of 30gig and one of 10gig. i did this with partition magic.But then i used fdisk to make one big partition but i've lost the 10 gig one and now have a 32gigdrive. is there anyway back or have i lost it completeley??

Use FDisk again and delete any extended partitions and then the primary partition and start again....

Use partition magic again
You hav'nt lost the space it's just windows refuses to see it.
Partition magic will force windows to assign the partition a new drive letter
enabling the 10 gig again.;)

can't see an extended partition in magic. should i be able to?
