okay, firstly I ordered a bunch of games some cdr and some dvdr the dvdr's are melody media and cdr's datastream professional. The first batch only 3 worked(Nightfire(DVDR),Hitman 2(DVDR),Mortal Kombat (DVDR) then I got replacements I also got a different cdr game(Shox) all have the same problem except for Shox(CDR) which works fine. The games are BMX XXX(CDR),The Getaway(DVDR),GTA3(DVDR),MGS2(DVDR) and TS2(DVDR) I also got smackdown shut your mouth which loads but makes horrid grindy noises in the loading process. Now I reburnt BMX onto A TDK Gold at 1x and now it works fine! Both the seller and I are bloody confused and there are laser suspicsions. BUT I have other DVDR's and CDR's on the same media which work fine, including the very picky Vice City(which I have had no errors on!).Your opinions/thoughts are welcome:)

Do you know what speed he has burned the games at and the software used??

What media are his master copies on?? Or are they copied from the HD?

Is he running any other progs whilst burning?

What Spec is his PC?

hey, i'm the supplier:)
i'll fill in the extra info here:
My orignals all work perfectly and some are stored on HDD
not running aany other programs, good enough pc believe me..lol
all of the games have been tested on mine & a friends console...in which they all worked perfectly (without the slightest problem)
(I have a Messiah V4, the other guy I tested on has a Messiah too...not sure on version tho:)
using Primo Prassi 2 for DVD-R...
CD-R is also done with Primo Prassi or Nero...
hey JR2K post more info on your PS2...
till you do, he has:
obviously from his signature
PAL V3 SCPH-30002 with GrandTech Advance Mod

i'm thinking it's because he has a V3 (they never had the best lasers exactly...), not to mention it's fairly old too I assume,

so watch ya'll got for us?lol

Using Nero, on 1x white label DVDRs, runs almost silent. No probs backing-up games.

just media compatibility issues, that's what it sounds like.

That's why there is no best media(I hate replying to what's the best brand of media to use posts) cuz I always answer the same thing, and they keep asking.

Everyone's laser is different, the newer ps2 lasers are better now, but a DVD that plays on yours may play on one of your friend's and not another.

I am sure both your burning methods are fine.

What he can do is re-burn the dvd/cd he got on a media that HIS PS2 likes, then it should be fine.

well what about the fact that on the exact media, Vice City has worked perfectly? (on his PS2...)
the only thing I can think of (the ones that arent working on his console, don't even boot up, they just goto a black screen) is that for some reason these, few games were done differntly by a group or, there's 'something' that his chip or something doesn't like?
I would think if it were a media issue, it would still boot up, but freeze/freak out in the game/at menu, but they aren't booting at all on his console, yet Vice City and MKDA work fine, (which is making me 'unsure' if its a media issue)

oh, ya possibly chip issue. That's why I dont use released ISOs, I always burn from ORIGINALS

well konga I didnt mention you as it may be bad for business:) but anyway konga makes a good point but I have a lot of group releases(mainly rips) including kalisto boot screen games(the ntsc-pal selector) and groups dont usually add stuff to FULL-DVD releases do they?

oh yeah as my sig says v3 pal:) its also worth mentioning that when the games go to a black screen they usually click and grind a lot and try so hard to get to a load screen.....but never do

(the orignal ones I sent him (these are the new sent replacements ...) have been sold to other ppl under a discount thing, so far the ones that have been sold/arrived to them, have worked on theirs too:D, it's just your evil console...lol
