I know this is a newbie question, but yes I did use the search function but I didn't find the answer to my question. Here are my specs:

Pioneer 104 DVD-RW
Ritek 2X Media
PS2 games
V4 PS2 and Messiah 2
Other PS2s with Magic 3s

I have been using Primo to make an image, then burn but for mass producing the games I was using Nero and burning at 2X. My friends were complaining that FFX would lockup on their Magic 3 systems. Some games work fine, some have random problems.

Whats the best software to make 1:1 DVD PS2 copies and I know 1X is the recommended speed but is there a reliable way with burning at 2X? I found that on CDR games burning at high speeds causes problems, way different than Dreamcast was.

The magic 3 chips are having problems with certain games, FFX, GTA:VC,Kingdom Hearts. Your burn method is ok, maybe an upgrade in media might help out.

Thanks for the information

I guess I'll have to try burning at 1X

See if it helps at all

Just always burn at 1x, what's your rush anyway. Would you rather have a better working/stable game at 1x, or 10 copies of non-stable at 2x.

oh, but the magic chip could be part of the issue as well

B****cks!!!!!! If you have a good intall of the magic 3 and got it from a reliable place then you are sorted. I have two ver 7 PS2s one fitted with the messiah 2 and the other with the magic 3 - they both boot great, Vice city AND the getaway are streaming games - they are loading data as you are playing hence the laser goes bananas all the time - htis is the prob. Even the origials of these some time cock up. ALWAYS burn streaming games at 1X - thats your best hope - and I agree that the "ritek" die is ia great
