when i burna cd @ any speed, it cripples my pc :( i have a 1000 processor n a hp 9300 writer. can anyone help me 2 stop it slowin my pc down so muc, ne ideas? lmk via posting here or email, cheers, heath :beer::heath:

How much RAM do you have and what O/S are you using?

OK, are you sure DMA is enabled on all CD/DVD drives and is the inbuilt Windows Imapi burning service disabled?

Also what software are you using? If it is Nero then the Imapi service enabled could have an effect on this.

DMA Direct Memory Access provides a faster route for the the drive to send or recieve data, it can be enabled in device manager under the IDE controllers.
An alternative solution is to close all open applications using CTRL-ALT-DEL
