Every time I download a game off a newsgroup that is clone cd format the game never boots, I burn the cd and it installs good but when I try to run it, it doesn't work and I check the games for cracks but it doesn't have any. So is there a setting I am missing for something?

You mean they won't automatically run when you put them in your CDROM?? Can you see the files on the disc?? Do you have autorun enabled on your PC? Give some more details and I am sure we can help you out. :)

ok I downloaded gta 3 for pc and it is two disk the first cd is a install cd and the second is a play cd, so I burned it and installed it then I put in the play cd and I clicked on the gta3 icon and then the screen says rockstar games and it just stayes there and the same thing happend with nightfire

is there a directory on the cd that might stick out to you that it has
a .exe that might work???????

and see if you write can writre the "Correct EFM-Encoding " or beable to enable "AWS" of clone........... It's stuck at the splash screen because it can't Verify its the Original disk

so I checked and mine doesn't have any of those options, does that mean I need a new burner

IMHO......... these days with the Latest Versions of protection's ( Safedisc 2 2.8xxx (Harder to make a working copy Not Impossible ), Securom 4.8xx (Nothing so far can make a 100% working copy with out emulation) same for Tages & Starforce........... I'd just Patch my Games rather sending money on something That WILL still make a 100% working copy without the need for any patch or emulation........ thats just my 2 cents worth

Hey just to let you know that GTA 3 does have a patch. I had the same problem until I found there was a patch. I downloaded it and installed it and was up and running.
